We use only the finest organic Soap Seed skins harvested each year fresh from Nepal during the months of November and December. Our skins come from the Sapindus Mukorossi which yeilds a higher concentration of Saponin compared to the darker, drier skins with less Saponin density from India and other countries. Our Soap Seeds are of the highest quality available. 100% organic, no pesticides used, harvested and prepared by hand, and all work is done by local Nepali villagers who earn a fair wage for themselves and their families. Soap Seed is low sudsing which makes it perfect for HE washers. It rinses clean, leaving clothes soft and fresh, with no need for fabric softeners. Simply tie 4 or 5 Soap Seeds into the cloth bag and add it to the wash! The cloth pouch can be re used up to 4 times before you discard the used skins inside. For best results use Warm Wash /Cold Rinse. For Cold Water Loads, soak cloth bag in Hot water for 10 minutes before adding to machine (to release Saponins.) We keep our whites their brightest by doing them in a separate load and adding an environmentally safe powdered Oxygen Bleach when necessary. Safe and gentle enough for baby clothes, blankets and diapers. Used in Nepal and India for hundreds of years on fine silks, wools and cashmeres. Each 14 oz Pouch contains enough Soap Seed to clean up to 120 loads of laundry.
